Farewell2Fossil
And then there were none
It's common knowledge that we are running out of fossil fuels - oil, coal and natural gas. But how fast are we running out of it? How many years more of coal, oil or natural gas do we have left?
Use the Farewell2Fossil widget on the left to find out. Use the tabs on top to find out the number of years of fossil fuels left under Conservative, Likely and Optimistic scenarios.
For any particular year, the total number of years for which fossil fuels are left are determined by using a mix of standard data available on reserves and suitable assumptions made on current and future demand of energy.
As their names suggest, these scenarios use respectively pessimistic, likely and optimistic data for computation.
