Galway to be site of Ireland’s first wave energy generator
The Oranmore-based Marine Institute and Sustainable Energy Ireland have launched a plan to open a wave energy test site off the coast of Spiddal. The 37-hectare site, which will be approximately a mile and a half off the Galway coast, will be available for entrepreneurs and engineers to test prototype ocean energy generators.
