Every year, 3.5 million pounds of lead fall from cars' wheel weights, putting children who play outdoors at risk of lead poisoning. Lead wheel weights are finger-sized pieces of pure lead attached to vehicle tire rims to help balance wheels and ensure a smooth ride. Commercial shipping emits as much particulates as cars

Globally, commercial ships emit almost half as much particulate matter pollutants into the air as the total amount released by the world?s cars, according to a new study led by NOAA and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Honda building cellulosic ethanol facility in Japan
